"The Holy Spirit is a strengthening Spirit. It strengthens and uplifts mind, body, and soul. It is an overcoming Spiritand itquickensyou inthepower to eliminate any shortcoming, to rise above temptation, to stand free, master of habit or inhibition" (Weekly Unity Sep 2 1945 6).
The activity of the Holy Spirit is what makes the water baptism possible. It is the stirring of Spirit in you which "quickens you in the power to eliminate any shortcoming." It is this strengthening power of God which makes you "come to yourself" and desire to change your way of living. It is the call to repentance as well as the strength to repent ... to change your way of thinking.
