Metaphysical meaning of Bezek (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Bezek (mbd)
Bezek, be'-zek (Heb.)--lightning; glittering brightness; scattered; dispersed.

a The city of Adonibezek, a heathen king of the Canaanites (Judg. 1:4-7). b A place where Saul numbered the men of Israel and sent them out to defeat the Ammonites (I Sam. 11:8).

Meta. Bezek means lightning. (See ADONIBEZEK for the significance of Bezek, the city of Adonibezek.)

The second Bezek, where Saul numbered the Israelites in sending them forth to defeat the Ammonites, symbolizes the fiery executiveness of an active will. Since Saul (the will) was inspired by God at that time, his action was good and he was successful. Likewise we are always victorious over all our error-thought enemies when we exercise our will against them in cooperation with the will and inspiration of Spirit.
