Metaphysical meaning of Recah (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Recah (mbd)
Recah (A.V., Rechah) re'-cah (Heb.) --softness; thigh; ham; haunch; side; hinder part; inner part; hidden part; inaccessible part; recess; declivity; uttermost part; most remote region; extremity.

A city, or place, in Judah (I Chron. 4:12).

Meta. A very innermost state of thought that is sacred to the individual. In the meaning of Recah, thigh is considered in opposition to the loin and refers to that which is secret and sacred. When Moses saw the "back" of Jehovah, it is to say that he had penetrated into the most sacred recesses of divine mystery (see Exod. 33:23, also I Kings 7:25, in connection with this). The idea of softness is also associated with that which is the most inaccessible.
