Hadlai, had'-lai (Heb.)--lax; idle; resting; dissolute; keeping a holiday; forbearing; forsaking; ceasing; ceasing to be; languid; frail; dead.

Father of Amasa, who was a chief among the children of Ephraim during the reign of Pekah, king of Israel. Amasa was one of those who objected to keeping the children of Judah captive (II Chron. 28:12).

Meta. A very negative thought in consciousness, which tends to lack of positiveness and of necessary self-discipline; thus it hinders one's realizing and demonstrating of good.
