Metaphysical meaning of Hassenaah (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Hassenaah (mbd)
Hassenaah, has-se-na'-ah (Heb.)--the thorny; the bristling; the thorn brush; the pointed.

His sons built the fish gate in the repairing of the wall of Jerusalem (Neh. 3:3).

Meta. A thought activity whose substance and fruitfulness (sons) are used in the rebuilding of the body temple, especially the guarding and renewing of the avenue through which ideas of increase gain an entrance into consciousness (the fish gate, fish symbolizing ideas of increase).

To one who is not well established in divine love and wisdom, this task is likely to be a thorny one, beset with difficulties. This is the case with the thought that Hassenaah signifies; therefore this thought must be more intellectual than spiritual. Yet it is enlightened and true, and to the point, and so makes the way thorny also for the error ideas that it must eliminate and keep out.
