Bethuel, be-thu'-el (Heb.)--dweller in God; dweller in God or abode of God; filiation of God.

a A nephew of Abraham, and father of Rebecca, Isaac's wife (Gen. 22:22, 23); he was also the father of Laban, whose daughters became Jacob's wives (Gen. 28:2, 5). b A city of Simeon (I Chron. 4:30).

Meta. Unity with God; consciously abiding in Him (dweller in God, abode of God) .
