Metaphysical meaning of Hamor (mbd)
Hamor, ha'-môr (Heb.)--ass; wild ass, so called from its reddish color; clay; loam; cement; heap; red; blushing; inflamed.

A prince of the Hivites, from whom Jacob bought the land on which he built the altar El-Elohe-Israel (Gen. 33:19). Hamor was the father of Shechem, who defiled Jacob's daughter Dinah and wanted to marry her. Both father and son were slain by Jacob's sons, Simeon and Levi (Gen. 34:2-26).

Meta. The ruling or central thought in the Hivite state of consciousness in man (see HIVITE), stubborn foolishness and unreasonableness (ass); also the transitory and material (clay) character of man's sensual, worldly mind.
