Metaphysical meaning of Megiddon (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Megiddon (mbd)
Megiddon, me-gid'-don (Heb.)--place of many organisms; place of troops, i. e., for predatory incursions; crowded place; rendezvous; place of great abundance; most fortunate place.

A form of Megiddo. It is mentioned in Zechariah 12:11 as a valley, a place of mourning: "In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadad-rimmon in the valley of Megiddon."

Meta. See MEGIDDO for the significance. See HADAD--RIMMON also, and you will understand why in this particular instance Zechariah refers to the valley of Megiddon as a place of mourning. It is a place of mourning only when seeming error has for the time being apparently replaced one's higher ideals and aspirations.
