Ahaz, a'-haz (Heb.)--possessor: possessing; to lay hold of; to grasp.
Son of Jotham, and King of Judah (II Kings 16).
Meta. The will given over to Baal worship, or materiality--the will that grasps things of sense and gives the substance of mind and body to them (to lay hold of, to grasp, possessor) .
