Metaphysical meaning of Alvan (mbd)
Alvan, al'-van (Heb.)--sublime; tall.
Son of Shobal, a descendant of Seir the Horite (Gen. 36:23); in I Chronicles 1: '10 he is called Alian.
Meta. A lofty concept, of man's seemingly material consciousness, concerning the apparently sensual or physical phase of his organism--a glimpse of the truth that even the outer man has his origin in Spirit. (See SHOBAL.)
