Amasiah, am-a-sl'-ah (Heb.)--Jehovah bears; Jah has strength (to bear); whom Jehovah bears.
Son of Zichri, "who willingly offered himself unto Jehovah" (II Chron. 17: 16). He was captain over "two hundred thousand mighty men of valor" during Jehoshaphat's reign.
Meta. Sustaining strength, through the inner Christ (whom Jehovah bears, Jah has strength to bear). Amasiah was of the tribe of Judah. By means of praise (Judah) our strength is increased and all our inner faculties and powers are greatly increased in consciousness.
