Metaphysical meaning of Apelles (mbd)
Apelles, a-pel'-les (Gk.)--called; set apart.
A Christian friend of Paul's at Rome, whom Paul wrote of as being "the approved in Christ" (Rom. 16:10) .
Meta. That in man which follows the inner leading of Spirit onward and upward (called, set apart) to the exclusion of lesser, sense promptings and desires. This brings about a realization of the approval of the inner Christ: "The Father approves of what I do."
