Metaphysical meaning of Arubboth (mbd)
Arubboth (A. V., Aruboth), ar-ub'both (Heb.)--fourfold forces; lattice works; windows; courts; sluice gates. These are the floodgates that were opened in the deluge referred to in Gen. 7:11 and 8:2. A channel or opening through which any force or principle may fully emanate to the created world.
A district in Israel from which Benhesed gathered victuals for King Solomon's household for one month of each year (I Kings 4:10). Arubboth is thought to have been a rich corn-growing country belonging to the tribe of Judah.
Meta. The increasing of substance (a rich corn-growing country) through praise (Judah), its entrance into consciousness (windows, sluice gates) and its adjustment in mind (courts), that a certain portion of this substance may be appropriated for the sustenance of the peace consciousness in man (Solomon and his household). Benhesed, pertaining to mercy and kindness, is needed to attend to the adjustment and distribution of substance.
