Metaphysical meaning of Baal-meon (mbd)
Baal-meon, ba'-al-me'-on (Heb.)--lord of habitations; place of dwellings; possessor of houses; lord of dwellings.
A city of the Reubenites; it was built by them in the land that had been taken from Sihon, king of the Amorites, and Og, king of Bashan (Num. 32:38).
Meta. Reuben means behold a son, vision of a son, and signifies understanding. Baal-meon (lord of habitations, possessor of the houses, lord of dwellings), a city of Reuben, represents understanding centered in the outer consciousness, understanding that still looks upon the manifest world and outer possessions as being real and true of themselves; this limited understanding does not see back of the manifest to spiritual reality.
