Metaphysical meaning of Baal-perazim (mbd)
Baal-perazim, ba'-al-per'-a-z;m (Heb.) --lord of breaches; place of dispersions; place of sunderings; lord of destructions.
A place where David gained a victory over the Philistines. "And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim," that is, "the place of breakings forth" (II Sam. 5:20 and margin).
Meta. The understanding that Baal (trust in the outer things of sense) is at the head of all divisions, separations, and disruptions in consciousness (lord of breaches, place of dispersions, lord of destructions). When love (David) unified with I AM (Jehovah) comes to this place of comprehension, the Philistines (lawless, rebellious thoughts and beliefs of the sense consciousness in man) are defeated.
