Metaphysical meaning of Hereth (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Hereth (mbd)
Hereth (A.V., Hareth), he'-reth (Heb.)--thick wood; thicket; dense forest.

A forest in the land of Judah where David went when he was hiding from Saul (I Sam. 22:5).

Meta. A state of mind that cannot be penetrated by error or force. By resorting to praise and prayer (Judah), love (David) builds up a state of spiritual thought to which the will functioning in the selfishness of personality (Saul) cannot possibly gain access. This is Hereth, a thicket, a dense growth of shrubbery and trees, in Judah, to which David fled from Saul.
