Metaphysical meaning of Hobab (mbd)
Hobab, ho'-bab (Heb.)--beloved; cherished; comforted.
Brother-in-law of Moses (Num. 10:29).
Meta. The love of understanding. (Hobab, meaning beloved; Moses' remark to him, "Thou shalt be to us instead of eyes"; also Moses' great desire to have Hobab accompany him and the Israelites on their journey through the wilderness to the Promised Land, all signify this. See Numbers 10:29-32). Understanding and discrimination (one meaning of Midian being judgment) are much prized (beloved) by the awakening desire in man for the things of Spirit; and understanding pertains to peace, protection, wholeness, and. every good (cherished, comforted).
