Iphdeiah (A. V., Iphedeiah), iph-de'-iah (Heb.)--whom Jehovah sets free; Jah will liberate; whom Jah ransoms; Jehovah will redeem.
Son of Shashak, of the tribe of Benjamin (I Chron. 8:25).
Meta. An active faith (Benjamite) in the power and willingness of Jehovah, I AM, the indwelling Christ, to redeem, liberate, set free from every limitation and error. This faith is born of an intense desire for and love of Truth. (Shashak, the name of the father of Iphdeiah, means vehement desire, eagerness, longing, yearning.)
