Metaphysical meaning of Jairus (mbd)
Jairus, jå-l'-rus (Gk. fr. Heb.)--Greek form of Jair--whom He (God) enlightens; he will illuminate- enlightenment; instruction; he shall shine; prosperity; happiness.
A ruler of the synagogue; it was his daughter whom Jesus raised to life (Mark 5:22).
Meta. Much the same as Jair; a spiritually illumined, ruling thought belonging to the established religious ideas (Jews of the New Testament) in individual consciousness. When truly enlightened this thought becomes a radiating center of light (he shall shine).
