Metaphysical meaning of Janoah (mbd)
Janoah, ja-no'-ah (Heb.)--rest; quiet; peace; breathe; take a breath; resting place.

a A place in Naphtali, that was taken by Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria (II Kings 15:29). b A place on the eastern border of Ephraim (Josh. 16:6).

Meta. A group of thoughts (city) in close proximity to the will faculty (Ephraim). b A group of thoughts, belonging to the faculty of strength (Naphtali), that are inactive (resting place, rest, quiet). This inactive thought group of the strength faculty helps to lull the whole consciousness of strength into a quiescent, or dormant, attitude that allows the strength of the individual to be given over to the serving and sustenance of the more active, aggressive sense-reasoning plane of the consciousness. In other words, it opens the way for the king of Assyria to conquer and take captive the whole land of Naphtali.
