Metaphysical meaning of Jathniel (mbd)
Jathniel, jath'-ni-el (Heb.)--constancy of God; continued of God; God is permanent; God is everlasting; whom God bestows; God-given; gift of God.
Son of Meshelemiah, who was a doorkeeper in the Temple and a descendant of Asaph (I Chron. 26:2).
Meta. Conscious acceptance of the truth that life comes from God and is continued by God (gift of God, God is everlasting), is everlasting because God--our life--is everlasting. "The free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 6:23). (A doorkeeper of the Temple signifies a thought that guards the door of our consciousness, admitting certain thoughts and ideas and refusing admittance to others.)
