Kishi, kish'-l (Heb.)--bow of Jehovah; strength of Jah; power of Jehovah.

Father of Ethan, who was one of the musicians in the tabernacle in David's reign (I Chron. 6:44). He is called Kushaiah in I Chronicles 15:17.

Meta. Kishi--bow of Jehovah--makes us think of the text in Genesis 49:24: "But his bow abode in strength,And the arms of his hands were made strong (active, marg.),By the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob."Kishi represents divine strength, activity, and executive power.
