Metaphysical meaning of Lehi (mbd)
Lehi, le'-hi (Heb.)--cheek; jaw; jawbone.
A place in Judah where Samson killed a thousand Philistines with the jawbone of an ass (Judg. 15:9-19). Lehi also seems to have been a name given to the jawbone itself, which "God clave" and "there came water thereout," for Samson to drink, when he was about to die of thirst (see Judg. 15:17-19, and the marginal note concerning Lehi, of the 19th verse).
Meta. Determination, endurance, strength (jawbone). If the same determination, strength of purpose, and enduringness that result in overcoming sense consciousness (the Philistines) are used to affirm new life and Truth through Jehovah, the Christ, they will quicken and restore the whole man.
