Metaphysical meaning of loaves and fishes (mbd)
loaves and fishes (Matt. 15:32-38).
Meta. We get the practical lesson from the story of Jesus' increasing the loaves and fishes, by applying it within our own consciousness.
Eating symbolizes mental appropriation. The multitude to be fed is our thoughts. Man's food is the substance of Spirit. "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." He partakes of the word of God by affirmation, and so eats of the sustaining substance of Spirit.
The "loaves" represent substance, and the "fishes" are ideas of increase.
