Metaphysical meaning of Mars' Hill (mbd)
Mars' Hill (in A. V., Mars' Hill; in A. S. V., Areopagus), mars hill.
A hill in Athens, with an open space, where the court of the Areopagus convened. It was there that Paul preached his sermon to the men of Athens, taking for his text the inscription that he found on one of their altars, "To AN UNKNOWN GOD" (Acts 17:22, 23).
