Son of Eleazer and father of Jacob, in the genealogy of Jesus (Matt. 1:15).
Meta. The activity of the law of giving and receiving in the consciousness and life of the spiritually unfolding individual. The symbol of Matthan is the open hand, both in giving and receiving, imparting and appropriating.
