Metaphysical meaning of Netophathites (mbd)
Netophathites (in A.V., Nehemiah 12:28, Netophathi), ne-toph'-a-thites (fr. Heb.)--of or belonging to Netophah.
Inhabitants of Netophah (Neh. 12:28; Jer. 40:8). Two of David's warriors, Maharai, and Heleb the son of Baanah, were Netophathites (II Sam. 23:28, 29). The Netophathites are mentioned in I Chronicles 2:54 as being "sons of Salma."
