Metaphysical meaning of Nicopolis (mbd)
Nicopolis, ni-cop'-o-lis (Gk.)--city of victory.
A city that is thought to have been on the boundary between Thrace and Macedonia. Paul told Titus to come to him at Nicopolis, since he intended to spend the winter there (Tit. 3:12).
Meta. A realization of victory for Truth, of triumph and mastery over lesser error thoughts and beliefs (city of victory). This conquering realization comes in the midst of a consuming desire of the soul for God, which desire awakens great enthusiasm and zeal (Macedonia signifies zeal, and Nicopolis was a city in or bordering on Macedonia).
