Metaphysical meaning of Pahath-moab (mbd)
Pahath-moab, pa'-hath-mo'-ab (Heb.) --prefect of Moab; governor of Moab.
a One whose "children" returned from the Babylonian captivity with Zerubbabel (Ezra 2:6). b One who joined Nehemiah in sealing the covenant (Neh. 10:14).
Meta. While the land of Moab represents the body and the most external conditions of life, there is good in Moab, or a great possibility of good. (See MOAB.) Pahath-moab (meaning prefect of Moab, governor of Moab, an Israelite who returned from the Babylonian captivity, and one who joined Nehemiah in sealing the covenant) is symbolical of thoughts in the higher religious consciousness of man that have a degree of dominion over that which Moab represents.
