Metaphysical meaning of Pekahiah (mbd)
Pekahiah, pek-a-hi'-ah (Heb.)--Jehovah has opened his eyes; Jah perceives; Jah watches; Jehovah restores the sight.
Son of Menahem and king of Israel. "He did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah," and was slain by his captain, Pekah (II Kings 15:22-26).
Meta. The ruling will of the objective consciousness of man (king of Israel, in Samaria), reigning in willfulness and ignorance (Pekahiah was a wicked king), but watched over by Jehovah and being taught, or gaining, understanding by the way of experience (Jehovah has opened his eyes, Jehovah restores the sight, Jah watches, eyes relating to sight --understanding). Until we are able to learn by direct revelation from God, and by being obedient to our higher ideals and spiritual guidance, we have to learn our lessons by means of the harder way, experience, since the law is that we must continue to learn and grow.
