Metaphysical meaning of Pethuel (mbd)
Pethuel, pe-thu'-el (Heb.)--opened toward God, enlarged of God; open-minded toward God; open expanse of God; open mouth of God; God delivers.
Father of Joel the prophet (Joel 1:1).
Meta. The understanding of the individual opened toward God, and thus broadened and deepened (enlarged of God) into a comprehension of man as being a spiritual being, a divine creation, through which God, the Father-Mind, expresses and works (open mouth of God). This enlarged understanding brings about deliverance from lesser error ideas and their limited results (God delivers).
