Metaphysical meaning of Phygelus (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Phygelus (mbd)
Phygelus (A.V., Phygellus), phy-gel'-us (Gk.)--one in flight; a fugitive.

A Christian of Asia who forsook Paul when Paul was a prisoner at Rome (II Tim. 1:15).

Meta. A thought that believes in the good and tends to good, but is as yet not stable, is not established. It is fearful, and lacks the staying, abiding qualities of Spirit. Therefore it backs down and disappears when seeming bondage and error arise in consciousness to oppose the word of Truth (Paul), when it is needed most (one in flight, a fugitive a Christian of Asia who forsook Paul when he was in bonds at Rome).
