Metaphysical meaning of Putiel (mbd)
Putiel, pu'-t;-el (Heb.) afflicted of God; stifled of God.
Father-in-law of Eleazar who was Aaron's son (Exod. 6:25).
Meta. The mistaken belief that God limits His people, withholds good from them, and afflicts them, for some purpose of His own--presumably for their higher good (afflicted of God, stifled of God). This belief exists in the old-established religious thoughts of man, but is not of the Spirit of truth (Putiel evidently was an Israelite).
