Metaphysical meaning of Sapphira (mbd)
Sapphira, sap-phi-rå (Gk. fr. Heb.)--beautiful; splendid; sapphire; precious stone; writer; enumerator- narrator.
Wife of Ananias, and his partner in the deception that brought about the death of both of them (Acts 5:1-11).
Meta. See ANANIAS.
A sapphire is a stone of a pure, deep, transparent blue, and blue is the color of Truth. Truth is beautiful, but this for which Sapphira stands in the individual must be cleansed from its greed and deception before it can really represent Truth in all its purity and can testify (narrator) only to that which is wholly true.
