Metaphysical meaning of Shephi (mbd)
Shephi, she'-phi (Heb.)--wearing away; nakedness; naked hill; barren; destitute; wasted away; pining; apathetic; unconcerned.
Son of Shobal, a descendant of Seir (I Chron. 1:40). He is called Shepho in Genesis 36:23.
Meta. A thought activity in body consciousness that is wholly without interest in the things of Spirit (unconcerned), hence is unfruitful and naked in so far as real life, strength, wholeness, substance, and good are concerned (nakedness, barren, wasted away). "And knowest not that thou art . . . poor and blind and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold refined by fire, that thou mayest become rich; and white garments, that thou mayest clothe thyself, and that the shame of thy nakedness be not made manifest" (Rev. 3:17, 18).
