Metaphysical meaning of Shiggaion (mbd)
Shiggaion, shig-ga'-ion (Heb.)--wandering; reeling; staggering; erring; transgression; erratic; wild; enthusiastic; seductive; a dithyrambic ode; boisterous speech.
A song, ode, or poem that David "sang unto Jehovah, concerning the words of Cush a Benjamite" (Psalms 7, title). It is of a wild, irregular nature.
Meta. The tendency of the "feelings" in man, when aroused and given control, to run on wildly, changing from one point of view or from one emotion to another (wandering, reeling, erring, erratic, wild, enthusiastic, seductive, boisterous speech, a dithyrambic ode). Note the many different strains of thought that are brought out by David in the 7th Psalm, and how quickly he changes from one strain to another and then back again, and so on.
