Metaphysical meaning of Shuni (mbd)
Shuni, shu-ni (Heb.)--rest; quiet; calm; peace; tranquillity; ease.
Meta. A tranquil, poised, peaceful attitude of thought (rest, calm, peace, quiet) existing in the power faculty in the individual (Gad, son of Jacob, signifies the power faculty in man, and Shuni was a son of Gad).
This restful attitude that Shuni represents can be carried so far, because of the love of ease, as to bring about inertia or deadness, which is anything but good.
