Metaphysical meaning of Zair (mbd)
Zair, za'–ir (Heb.)--small; little; minor; reduced; made few; petty; ignoble; mean; despised; contemned; dishonored; worthless.
A place, evidently in Edom, where Joram, king of Judah, defeated the Edomites (II Kings 8 :21).
Meta. The inferiority of the "mind of the flesh" in man, in comparison with the phase of his being that is established in spiritual understanding and expression (little, small, made few, petty; ignoble, worthless; a place in Edom, Edom referring to the sense consciousness in man). Jesus said, "It is the spirit that giveth life; the flesh profiteth nothing" (John 6 :63).
