Metaphysical meaning of Zohar (mbd)
Zohar, zo'–här (Heb.)--dazzling brilliance; brightness; whiteness; white; nobility; distinction; purity.
a Father of Ephron, from whom Abraham bought the cave of Machpelah in which he buried Sarah (Gen. 23:8). b A son of Simeon (Gen. 4O:10; Exod. 6:15). In Numbers 26:13 and I Chronicles 4 :24, Zohar the son of Simeon is called Zerah.
Meta. Thoughts of a pure, clear, lofty, discriminating character (whiteness, brightness, nobility, distinction, the name of two men, one of them being of the Israelitish tribe of Simeon).
