Metaphysical meaning of Asahel (mbd)
Asahel, a'-så-hel (Heb.)--whom God created; whom God constituted; whom God has made; God's creature; God is doer.

Son of David's sister, Zeruiah, and brother of Joab and Abishai (I Chron. 2:16). He was very active in David's service. He was a very swift runner; it is said of him that he was "as light of foot as a wild roe" (II Sam. 2:18).

Meta. The swiftness of the activity of the creative word in man's consciousness when love (David) is the ruling power (king). Before the intellect (Abner, captain of Saul's host) gives way fully to the new spiritual rulership, there is sometimes such keen competition between the two that the word of Truth is hindered in its expression and its effects are seemingly denied any place in consciousness for a time. (Abner killed Asahel in self-defense.)
