Matt. 2:19-21. But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying. Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead that sought the young child’s life. And he arose and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.
Interpretation
Joseph represents the natural man with a higher spiritual principle in the course of development. He represents that in one that knows what is going on spiritually and would preserve the new spiritual development that is taking place in the subconsciousness (Egypt). Sense consciousness (Herod) is dead; therefore the new spiritual consciousness (the Christ child) is no longer in danger. It is free to express openly that which is real (Israel).
