Metaphysical meaning of Agur (mbd)
Agur, a'-gur (Heb.) -- gathered; scraped together; small money; profit; tax money; a hireling; a stranger.
Meta. Outer understanding--man's intellectual consciousness--gathering knowledge and substance for personal advancement and gain. This is not the true, spiritual understanding and substance, but is a hireling, a stranger, so far as concerns the getting of good by waiting on the inner teacher, the Spirit of truth, and then carrying out its instructions. The spiritual way of gaining wisdom and supply i8 easy, but the way of the outer man, of the intellect, is hard work (scraped together, small money) .
