Metaphysical meaning of Ahinoam (mbd)
Ahinoam, a-hin'-o-am (Heb.)--my brother is delight; pleasant brother; brother of grace; gracious.
a Saul's wife (I Sam. 14:50). b A wife of David's (I Sam. 25:43).
Meta. The ruling idea in mind represented by David's wife, Ahinoam, is activity without discord (my brother is delight, pleasant brother, gracious). The wives of David represent the substance side of thought, which must enter into the demonstration of our rule in divine love. The first step is obedience to the Lord; the second is to go up into our highest spiritual realization an(l there concentrate all our thoughts. (See II Sam. 2:2.)
