Metaphysical meaning of Ahzai (mbd)
Ahzai (A. V., Ahasai), äh'-zai (Heb.) --my holder; protector; whom Jehovah holds; whom Jehovah upholds.
A priest of Israel (Neh. 11:13); a form of the name Ahaziah.
Meta. The Israelitish priests represent our so-called "natural religious tendencies." Some of these may be spiritual, and others may be simply of the intellect. Ahzai signifies just what the name means--that Jehovah upholds, sustains, and protects the true religious nature of man as it is unfolding into spiritual consciousness. (See AHAZIAH.)
