Metaphysical meaning of Ammiel (mbd)
Ammiel, am'-m;-el (Heb.)--people of God; servants of God; my kinsman is God; my people is strong.
The name of four Israelitish men; one of them was of the tribe of Dan, and was one of the twelve who were sent to spy out the land of Canaan (Num. ] 3:12; II Sam. 9:4; I Chron. 3:5; 26:5).
Meta. Spiritual thoughts in consciousness (people of God). These thoughts are related closely to the divine (my kinsman is God), and potentially they are strong (my people is strong). But not all the men named Ammiel recognized the unfailingness of spiritual strength; some of them attributed strength to error (see Num. 13:31-3:3). Our spiritual thoughts, also, are not always conscious of their overcoming power; or perhaps it would be more correct to say that we are not always conscious of the overcoming power of our spiritual thoughts.
