Metaphysical meaning of Anakim (mbd)
Anakim (A. V., Anakims), an'-a-k;m (Heb.)--the long-necked; giants.
Descendants of Arba, through Anak (Deut. 9:2). They were a race of giants, in southern Canaan (Josh. 11:21).
Meta. The intellectual thoughts and states of consciousness in man that believe that the outer, formed world, with its customs and teachings, is real and is the source of man's strength, power, and good, instead of seeing that the outer manifestation is but an expression of man's inner thought and word and of itself has no sustaining power. (See ANAK.)
