Metaphysical meaning of Apphia (mbd)
Apphia, ap'-phl-å (Gk.)--productive.
A Christian woman whom Paul addressed along with Philemon and Archippus (Philem. 2). She is supposed to have been Philemon's wife.
Meta. Philemon means loving; he was a friend to Truth. Archippus means chief of the horses, master of horses, which suggests dominion over the vital forces of the organism and ability to care for them wisely. These qualities represented by Philemon and Archippus bring about a soul productiveness or fertility (productive, Apphia) that enables the individual to bring forth abundantly of the fruits of the Spirit.
