Metaphysical meaning of ArimathAea (mbd)
ArimathAea, ar-`i-ma-the'-å (Gk.)--the height; high place; highland.
The birthplace and home of Joseph, a wealthy man and a follower of Jesus Christ. Joseph took the body of Jesus down from the cross and put it in his own tomb (Matt. 27:57-60). ArimathÆa is thought to have been the same place as Ramah of the Old Testament.
Meta. An aggregation of thoughts of a lofty character--a high state of consciousness in man (the height). (See RAMAH.)
