Metaphysical meaning of Bakbakkar (mbd)
Bakbakkar, bak-bak'-kär (Heb.)--diligent searcher; exceedingly pleasing. Due to the doubling of characters, the word has the force of a superlative.
A Levite, one of those who "dwelt in the villages of the Netophathites" after the return from the Babylonian captivity (I Chron. 9:15).
Meta. A thought belonging to the natural religious tendencies of man (a Levite), that is, of a character exceedingly investigating, examining, penetrating, seeking (diligent searcher). This thought activity is founded in love (the Levites were descended from Levi, who represents the love faculty in individual consciousness) and therefore is not of a contentious nature. It is harmonious, though faithful in its search after Truth; thus it brings great joy and satisfaction to the person who entertains it and gives it substance.
