Metaphysical meaning of Beelzebub (mbd)
Beelzebub, be-el'-ze-bub (Gk. from Heb.)--Baal of the flies; lord of the flies.
Sovereign of evil spirits; a heathen deity, believed to be the head over evil spirits (Luke 11:15-19); the "prince of the powers of the air, of the spirit that now worketh in the sons of disobedience" (Eph. 2:2).
Meta. You are crying "Beelzebub" whenever you say "crank" of the one who has caught sight of the spiritual mountain tops now glistening in the sun of the new age, just as they called Jesus Beelzebub because He presented and demonstrated Truth ahead of the age in which He lived. (See BAAL-ZEBUB.)
